Beti Kristof might best be called "Renaissance Woman". She is a gifted artist who has displayed a level of mastery in art that is rarely seen today. Her work is offered by leading galleries and is displayed in prominent private collections and corporate headquarters throughout the United States. Raised in Southern California, Beti now resides in Las Vegas. She is proud to be the daughter of Hungarian immigrants who escaped communism to raise their child in a free nation. At age 17, Beti was accepted to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. At a young age her talent was so apparent that she was invited to apprentice with two of Europe's finest artists; Eva and Americo Makk. While apprenticing in Europe, Beti’s talent gained her invitations to the world of European Art Masters, that most artists only dream of gaining access to ... Her passion for painting led her to the Sacchi Studio in Italy, where she developed her skills further. Beti was invited into the vaults of Pitti Palace, to study and sketch from the original works of Titan, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, and Da Vinci, as well as other masters. She also furthered her skills in life drawing, in the studios of Joseph Sheppard and Madame Simi, in Florence. Upon her return to the United States, Beti continued her training with the celebrated artist, Theodore Lukits. Beti has demonstrated a wide range of artistic abilities. She has illustrated books; Tiko and the Tramp , Ted's Simple Truth, as well as The First Football ABC Pretzel Book - which she authored as well. In 2007, Beti was awarded the highly coveted International “Muse Award” for Oil Painting. Beti’s many public exhibits include: Nevada State Senate, Cirque du Soleil, Mono County Museum, Hungarian Freedom Fighters Exhibit. She was awarded Public Mural placement for the City of Las Vegas, and created a commissioned sculpture for Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman, as well as a commissioned portrait of former Nevada Governor Kenny Guinn and his wife. She also appeared as the “Queen of Color,” on a Las Vegas Children’s Variety Television Program. Beti Kristof’s many styles of painting and sculpting reflect the depth of her formal training, and add to her well-deserved stature as one of the Southwest’s leading artists. Beti is involved with Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation, a national organization that comes to the aid and support of families with children who have cancer. Beti has experienced this first-hand, so a portion of the proceeds of THE FIRST FOOTBALL ABC PRETZEL BOOK are donated to Candlelighters. (We are pleased to tell you that she has a child who is a cancer survivor!)

Artist Statement As an Artist and a Painter, it really never occurs to me to be doing anything else. The canvas and paint almost take on a momentum of its own, a creation that almost completes itself. And like each day of our lives unfold, sometimes the process is not always without a glitch. I look at the art of ‘life’ as a never ending canvas that keeps revealing more and more interesting challenges of growth and beauty. As a mother of three, life’s canvas took me through many parenting challenges. My daughter , physically challenged was born without her left forearm. She became a ski racer. She traveled the International circuit and won World Cup events and retired after three silver medals at the Salt Lake City, 2002 Paralympics. My son, now 20 and an artist himself, was diagnosed with leukemia at a young age. He is a Cancer survivor. My youngest is attending elementary school in Las Vegas, he is in a gifted program and loves playing Football. Every stroke on the canvas builds the painting, and every life’s experience builds the person. Together it has been a personal and spiritual journey. The canvas, as a way to remain centered and thoughtful, working the details of life, stroke by stroke, step by step….creating beauty and stillness in a surrounding of uncertainty and sometimes overwhelming challenges.
