Caroline Cloutier was born in 1980 in Greenfield Park City, Canada. She is now living with her husband and kids in Sainte-Julie, Quebec, Canada.
Caroline always has a lot of interest for Arts in general. As an example, she took dance, theatre and cinema lessons. In 2001, she entered at Quebec's University at Montreal in Architecture/Design. After 2 years, she realizes that she is too much artist to become an architect and decide to quit. Caroline gave birth to her son Samuel in 2005 and to her daughter Miriam in 2007. In 2008, she still feel the need to create. She starts painting lessons at Artlequin Art School. That's where is borned her passion for abstraction, automatist and intuitive art. With the help of her teacher Mrs. Ursula Kofahl Lampron, Caroline found her artistic style very fast and won her first award at the Artlequin Art School annual exhibition.
Caroline Cloutier is now entirely dedicated to her art and she is painting full time at her studio "Sol'ART'ium". Since summer 2010, the artist is working on an important project. She is the President of the Sainte-Julie's Contemporary Art Fair.
Throughout my artistic experiences, I found the power of intuitive art. For me, it is impossible to express feelings honestly when art is planned, calculated, technical, or too thoughtful measured. I trust to chance and free gesture and my artworks are the translation of my subconscious. I express myself through different mediums that promote impulsivity and I continually explore the use of new tools, materials and methods. Acrylic paint allows me to feed my need to create quickly. I also like to work with water and let the colors mix freely together. The paint flows onto the canvas and reveals interesting shapes and lines. Then I enhance my work with a pen, oil pen, oil pastel, graphite pencil, spray paint and other mediums. When the instinct tells me, I use some small items like beads, sequins, etc…
As an artist, I am exasperated that people absolutely must find meaning in art. How many "hypocrites" exhibitions do I have visited! Exhibitions in where artworks are forced to carry a message. I want my artworks to be totally free of meaning and
