| ARTISTIC STATEMENT |
||||||
| The love of art has been part of my life for nearly fifty years. As art teacher, I had to explore various art techniques. I was aiming to teach new ways to students, so they can discover, learn and achieve their goals. For about twenty-five years I have been doing quick sketches from life. The thousands of drawings has progressively increased from an early stage to advanced stage. Hence, I was able to slowly keep the drawing's morphology: a structured design, more so than specific. Drawing is an opportunity for me to note the forms and expressions, and even the moods of the model. I succeed when the action is free and that the model is inspiring. As I developed my vision, I refer to any method to establish my drawing. I give priority to what I see rather than what I know. I prefer to grow happily and miss a large number of drawings then to pass a few that inspire me. In my production, I'm looking for an instinctive composition or design in its simplest form that fills and animates the space. I am proud that my work allowed me to get the first prize in the Figurative Art juried exhibition of AAPARS 2011 (Association of Painters of the South Shore). |
