| ARTIST STATEMENT |
Women in Search of Lost Time!
Born in Saint-Pascal of Kamouraska.... the beautiful scenery of the Lower River sides become a source of inspiration.
After a while, I no longer feel the same way as I used to in my early days as a painter. Nature elements fade gradually giving way to highly stylized characters.
These women have become voiceless, faceless and silent. Who ever questions, claims, and demands, become a second wind for me to express my emotions.
The places where people are waiting, gathering or meeting, are great places to probe, scan the faces of these women.For five years I have worked in defining more or less shadows and lights. Suddenly these characters emerge.
Bring out the light to where it wants, that the freedom of being an artist! |
