| ARTISTIC STATEMENT |

| The artist eventually returns to certain pleasures of his childhood. He visually recalls a moment when carnival is approaching and mask-making actively impassions the children and many adults. The wearer of the mask becomes anonymous in an instant that opens a fresh space for creativity Interdictions fall aside, inhibitions disappear. It’s as if the person took on the attributes of the mask he or she wears. Using a sort of paper pulp which is flexible and polyvalent, material rediscovered through the artist’s explorations, childhood’s pleasant moments are revisited. Artistically he has turned to this material for constructing an entire corpus of work in bas relief that includes masks and dancers as well as to fashion papers offering a rich texture that invites its use in creative constructions. Along his many peregrinations, the artist encountered marvellous people to join with him and accompany him on his trajectory along creativity’s byways. Ali that he acquired, every encounter, impregnated his consciousness as an artist and fed into his art work. It joined as one to his storehouse and will fuel the flame of his artistry. |
