Krysia Gallien is a self taught artist with a background in the healing arts. Her work celebrates colour and the dynamic of energy that underlies form. She works mainly in watercolour sometimes adding ink and pastel. Flowers are a favourite theme but meditative landscapes and mythical figures also are typical themes of her work.
Staying at the edge of abstraction, she invites the viewer to look beyond form and participate in the dance of creation. Her work is in private collections both in North America and Europe.

Artist’s statement:
Beyond the objectification of form, the artist as mystic is as if drunk on the beauty that transpires beyond that which appears, and with paint calls forth the colour and light of the underlying life force of living things so that painting becomes both a meditation and a celebration of the essence behind form, the evanescent revelation of the sacred in the every day thing. So the painting itself is a tribute to that moment of revelation and a gift to the viewer of the sublime hidden in the mundane.
As icon, the painting itself calls forth and remembers that moment of revelation, drawing into its environment a refined sensibility and quintessence.
As an artist, my belief is that painting is a kind of alchemy that transforms and heightens consciousness beyond its everyday paradigm. All art challenges us to see in new ways and to open the doors of our perception to the inspiration of a higher synthesis.
Whether we meet creativity as painter or as viewer, when we truly see, we are never the same again. My wish is that my art can convey a continual blessing force on the environment it finds itself in and on the viewer who takes a moment to be moved. The Sufis say: God is beautiful and loves Beauty.
Biography:
Krysia’s influences are deeply steeped in the teachings of metaphysics and mysticism. She comes from a lifelong career as an energy healer and spiritual guide. Her interest in art includes immersion in mandala making. Tracing her personal evolution, she made mandalas continuously over a three-year period and taught the process to groups as a form of shamanic journeying. She also has explored process-oriented art as a dynamic dialogue with the spontaneous mind.
Krysia’s love for colour and light has led her into a unique vision of energy and form through the vivid watercolour medium. Her paintings are a vehicle for meditation and bliss (ananda). Colours are chosen for their purity and vibrational frequency. Through colour and light we can awaken the heart and harmonize the mind.
Krysia’s belief is that creativity is the highest expression of human consciousness. We are here to inspire and be inspired.
